Blythburgh Focus - the community newsletter
The first issue of Blythburgh Parish News was published by the Parish Council in December 1998. The launch was made possible with grants from Suffolk ACRE and the Millennium Fund. The newsletter has since chronicled both the official and unofficial life of the parish. It took its present form, edited by David Tytler, with issue no. 14 in October 2003. The newsletter went online with issue no. 34, for May/June 2007. With issue no. 62 for January/February 2012 the name changed to Blythburgh Focus, to end a long-standing confusion with Holy Trinity Church's own publication. The print version of this issue was numbered 62 and the electronic version no. 1 to start a new series. There are normally six issues a year, coming soon after each Parish Council meeting. Sadly, David Tytler died in March 2019 while on hliday in France, soon after completing Issue no. 44. Focus is now edited by Malcolm Doney and Chiara Saunders.
The Blythburgh Focus is funded privately and is not controlled or supported financially by the Parish Council. Currently it benefits from a guarantee from the Blythburgh Latitude Trust. Any comments about the Focus, contributions, adverts or events should be sent to the editors at malcolmdoney@me.com or chiarasaunders@mac.com .
Suffolk County Record Office in Ipswich has a complete set of the newsletters from 1998.
