At its meeting on 13 May the Parish Council adopted a Strategic Planning Paper to provide a basis for action to deal with traffic problems in the village. The key aims were to improve safety for pedestrians crossing the A12 and the removal of through traffic from Angel Lane - Dunwich Road, the B1125. An essential step would be to improve the B1387 from the Water Tower junction to Toby's Walks at the A12, to provide a safe alternative route for traffic displaced from the village.
The question of a bypass for Blythburgh was not part of the study. The increased volume of traffic if a Sizewell C project goes ahead is a worrying prospect. It is argued however that Blythburgh has a traffic problem without Sizewell C.
